There are arguments, which you undoubtedly know if you have consciously searched for this article. For example, if you already have a good frame (e.g. from a skate that is not your size) and are looking for a matching shoe for it, then it certainly makes sense to consider a Swell Firefly boot-only. That "bit more money" would otherwise be wasted.

Per boot, three mounting screws are included (to screw a Trinity frame onto the boot).

Depending on your personal preference and whether you wear orthotics, you can insert the included quality insoles into the skates or not.

Strengths:

• This boot-only is compatible with all Trinity frames.
• As usual with the Swell range, this is a nice shoe (boot-only). The design has been thought through.

Weaknesses:

• A sore point for all boot-onlies is that the sum of the individual prices of boot-only and undercarriage is considerably higher than the price of one complete equivalent skate.
• The boot is not modular. The only parts that can be easily replaced are the top buckle and the laces.
